2010 30 Team MLB ROM

Tengen built the base, and the community made it better. Following the success of a 32-Team Tecmo Super Bowl game, hacking legend jstout set out to expand the RBI Baseball ROM to 30 teams, complete with some extra goodies. I worked closely with him, documenting the changes, chatting about things that would make this the best it could be, when he was finished, we were left with a 30 team RBI Baseball game that included all the popular hacks that Nightwulf had written for the original 10 team version, including 2-player pausing for online play, per-pitcher batting attributes, and extra “juice” to make the CPU more difficult, and thus more fun to play.

All that was left to do was for someone to utilize this gem by making an updated version of the game. I started out with a basic, but flawedrating style, and after many, many tweaks, I now have a system in place that has provided gameplay much like the original, but instead of knocking pixelated balls into the lights with DaEvns and Jacksn and throwingwicked curves with Krukow and Tudor, you’re now doing it with Pujols, Fieldr, and Hllday!

All 30 MLB Teams are represented by a lineup of 8 batters and 4 bench players, and a pitching staff of 2 starters, one setup, and one closer. Please note that these downloads may change frequently until the start of the season. Lineup changes will be reflected as they occur, and as I have time to put them into the game.

1986/1987 28 Team MLB ROM

Now that we have the ability to add more teams to the game, myself and some of the members of Dee-Needecided that we needed to finish what Tengen started. So, we set out on a project to add the forgotten 16 teams to the original game. Now you can play with all 26 teams, plus the two All-Star teams from the 1986/1987 era. The project is in beta, and we’re currently testing out how it plays and making tweaks. You can download it in its almost finished form below.
