The League

It has long been my desire to start an RBI Baseball league. Unfortunately, RBI leagues have a history of failing, a lot of times before they even begin! I wanted to change all of that…part of my inspiration for setting up the RPC was to create a “testing grounds” for potential league participants. I could gauge skill level (to a certain degree), ability to handle league requirements (connecting, uploading stats), dedication to playing (weed out the guys who play one game and then drop off the face of the earth), and meet new fans of the game to share my enthusiasm with. Once I scouted about 6 guys (the minimum I wanted to start a league with), and was comfortable that there’d be a few more waiting in the wings should one of those 6 not work out, I made the official post on Dee-Nee.

We ended up allowing 10 teams to enter the inaugural season, and we’re currently nearing the end of round 5 of our draft.  I’m hearing a lot of enthusiasm from guys who are excited to play.  Here’s to hoping we can make this a standard, and not another statistic.

If you are interested in joining the league, sign up for the RPC and play a few pickup games to get your feet wet.  When you’re ready, hop on over to the waiting list thread and sign up.  We can never have enough alternates waiting for expansion, current players quitting, etc.
